RFQ & Quote Terms
These terms apply to quote requests, drawing uploads, and estimating discussions that start through the website or related communications channels. They are intended to clarify expectations before any order is accepted.
RFQs are informational, not binding
RFQ submissions, email inquiries, and quote discussions are requests for review only. They are not binding contracts, purchase commitments, production reservations, or promises that Matrix will accept or quote every project.
Quotes remain estimates until accepted in writing
Quotes, lead-time ranges, and availability statements are estimates based on the information available at the time of review. Pricing and timing remain subject to engineering review, material availability, tooling, outside processing, quantity assumptions, and any changes to scope. A quote is not final until accepted or confirmed by Matrix in writing.
Customer responsibility for drawings and specifications
- The customer is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of submitted drawings, models, files, specifications, tolerances, revisions, and material requirements.
- The customer is responsible for identifying critical dimensions, fit, finish, inspection requirements, certifications, and application-specific performance needs.
- Matrix may rely on the information provided unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
Files, confidentiality, and submissions
Customers should submit only files they have the right to share. Website and email submissions are handled in the ordinary course of business, but they are not a substitute for a signed NDA or confidentiality agreement. If a project requires specific confidentiality terms, those terms should be addressed in a separate written agreement.
Changes, expired assumptions, and follow-up review
If drawings, revisions, material requirements, delivery expectations, or quantities change, Matrix may revise pricing, timing, feasibility assumptions, or scope. Quotes may also become outdated if market conditions, supplier costs, or production conditions materially change.
